What to See and Do
Dartmoor is a favourite destination for the outdoors enthusiast and we’ve lots ideas for you to try out including where to walk, cycle and climb. Take a look at our Get Active Outdoors page to find out more.
But perhaps you want a less energetic day or the weather outside is simply suggesting a day indoors would be better? What else can you do? For some ideas go to our Places to See page.
You could even choose to learn a new skill by taking part in an “experience”.
The Visit Dartmoor Destination Guide has lots of ideas and is downloadable as a pdf.
Wray Valley Experiences
This winter we will be developing some more experiences for you to enjoy during your stay. As well as the navigation training and guided walks we are thinking of adding campfire cooking and charcoal making. Follow us on social media and here to find out more.
We will be writing up some more self-guided walks and nature trails.
If you have any skills or expertise that you would like to offer as an experience based here either in the main house and/or in the grounds please get in touch. We are particularly interested to here from anyone wanting to organise retreats, nature based experiences or forest-based crafts.
Also if you want to help out with some conservation work please get in touch. This is likely to include hedge laying, tree planting, coppicing, invasive weed removal, bracken and bramble control etc… There is a never-ending list!
