Seasonal, Sustainable Camping Experience

Our Hay Meadow camping field opens its doors during the lush summer months. Located on a gentle slope between the car park and the river, you’ll be surrounded by the beauty of nature. In our commitment to preserving the environment, we ask guests to leave cars in the car park, but we’ve got you covered with barrows and trolleys to transport your camping gear.

Private Pitches & Biodiversity Corridors

Each level pitch is secluded by unmown biodiversity corridors, allowing you to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature in your private sanctuary. Throughout the summer, the meadow blooms with wildflowers, attracting vibrant butterflies and busy bees, creating a haven for nature enthusiasts.

Orange

Orange pitch with frame tent

Approx size: 10 x 6 m

Orange pitch with frame tent

Orange

Situated at the top of the Hay Meadow, the orange pitch is conveniently located close to the car park, the washing up sink, drinking water tap and recycling area.  The pitch is L-shaped so there is an additional area not included in the measurements.

The pitch is sheltered by the trees and hedgeline. Being higher up the hillside  it has a good view and keeps the sun longer in the evening.

The downside is that it is also closer to the road.

Red

Red pitch - shows picnic bendh and view

Approx size: 14 x 8 m

Red

Located in the middle at the top of the Hay Meadow, the red pitch is conveniently located close to the car park and is close to the washing up sink, drinking water tap and recycling area.  The downside is that it is also close to the road.

Being higher up the hillside it has a good view and keeps the sun longer in the evening than the pitches lower down the slope.

Yellow

Yellow Pitch - shown with 2 lightweight tents and picnic table

Approx size: 12 x 5 m

Yellow Pitch - shown with 2 lightweight tents and picnic table

Yellow

Located half-way up the field in the middle of the camping area.  This pitch is currently a bit narrower than the others, although we are working on levelling it out at the back.  Would suit long narrow tents or two or three smaller tents.

It is a good compromise between the convenience of Orange and Red close to the car park and Blue and Green which are closer to the river and shaded in the evening.

Blue

Blue pitch showing 2 lightweight tents, table and camp chairs

Approx size: 11 x 6 m

Blue

Located near the bottom of the field, blue pitch is closest to the compost toilet and close to the river.  It snuggles in beside the hedge giving protection on a windy day and shade on a sunny afternoon.  However, the pitches at the bottom of the hill do tend to lose the sun earlier than those higher up.

There is a slightly raised campfire between Blue and Green Pitch which make these ideal to be booked together for larger groups.

Green

Old green pitch with 2 tents

Approx size: ? x ? m

Old green pitch with 2 tents

Green

Located near the bottom of the field and closer to the river than the other pitches However, the pitches at the bottom of the hill do tend to lose the sun earlier than those higher up.  We have had to move this pitch slightly further uphill to comply with our planning permission.
