Hay Meadow and Water Meadow family pitches are around 5m square and priced at £20/night for up to 4 people, with additional charges if more people. You can have a many tents/shelters as you want. Nearly Wild pitches have fire pits.
Nearly Wild sites are priced per night is £5 per adult and £3 per child aged 2-16 years, infants and dogs are free (up to max of 3 people)
We offer basic camping on up to 5 large flat tent pitches in our sloping hay meadow and separately in our woods to campers who are members of the Nearly Wild Camping Club. We are also happy to take bookings from groups who have their own camping licence, e.g. Duke of Edinburgh Award, Scouts, Guides etc.
There is a tree bog compost loo, a drinking water tap supplied from our own borehole and you can paddle and bathe in the river. BBQs are permitted and there is a shared campfire where you can meet and share stories other campers or you can borrow one of our fire pits.
Due to the sloping nature of the site it is not possible to have your car by your tent, you will be asked to leave it in the car park at the top of the hill. For the same reason we are unable to accommodate camper vans or caravans – there’s no level area to park on – Sorry!
We are both qualified walking guides and are happy to help you plan a walk or by arrangement we can take you on a walk or provide navigation training.
Bike hire is available from the nearby Dartmoor Bike Hire – who will deliver if you don’t have a car.
